About the FIFA World Cup 2026
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the 23rd edition of the tournament and the first to feature 48 teams, expanded from 32. Co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, it is the first World Cup hosted by three nations simultaneously. The group stage runs June 11–27, followed by the Round of 32 (June 28–July 3), Round of 16 (July 4–8), Quarter-finals (July 9–11), Semi-finals (July 14–15), and the Final on July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.
Argentina's Lionel Messi leads the all-time World Cup scoring charts with 18 goals, breaking Miroslav Klose's long-standing record. France's Kylian Mbappe has equalled Klose's tally of 16 World Cup goals. The USA, Mexico, Germany, and Argentina have all qualified for the Round of 32.
